He makes my heart beam

I was scooping fresh litter into the cat box tonight and Justin wanted to help {do it}. Sure! The heavy bucket of litter was in the garage about 5 feet away. I use an old diaper wipe tub to do the scooping and turned the "scooper" over to Justin. After a few scoops he brought to my attention that the my scooper wasn't cutting it - he had found his shovel and apparently that worked much better. It made me laugh and smile. I was busy unloading the dishwasher so I didn't see the decision on his part transpire. I love it when stuff like this happens. And I love that he loves to help!

all good things must come to an end

This afternoon Justin wanted to go for a run, he got his running shoes on and was so excited to get outside that he didn't wait for the garage door to open enough and ran right into it. He smacked his nose pretty hard, but was off and running in a matter of minutes. And by the looks of his precious face here, little damage was done.

Took Amanda to the train station today. I am sad to see the wonderful long weekend {spring break} come to an end. I am not looking forward to resuming regular lives tomorrow.

Justin burritto

Justin has been hollaring for his Auntie Manna whenever she leaves his eye shot. He has really enjoyed the extra attention - and is is especially fond of the burritto wrap that she puts him in.

spa day!

The question is... why have we not had facials sooner? They were delightful! After getting pampered at the spa we had a late lunch at Chipotle and did a little shopping. Then it was back to real life. Oh boy! You better believe I enjoyed every minute of it!

Amanda is here! Spring break is starting! Yay! I love all the anticipation that has led up to what we have planned for the next few days! So excited!

yup, I'm sucked in

I stayed up late last night reading. I have been sucked into the phenomenon!

Today it looked like spring as the sun came in the windows, but it was cold, and later very wet! It is the first day of spring break down here - which mean an easy commute into work for me. It also means that Amanda will be here tomorrow! We have great fun planned! I am excited!

Spent the afternoon at Jamie and Jimmy's, Rachel came over too. The gals died my hair for me {dark brown - very dark}, we had dinner, went to Target, watched Twilight {not in that order} - had a fun day! Gotta love a Saturday!

icee please

On the way home today we passed 7-11 and Justin asked for an icee {slurpee} and I told him maybe later. Well... after he ate dinner he said "icee please" and well... we went to go get an icee. A cherry icee to be exact, with a pink straw.

observations and sign of spring

Observations made today while I waited for the seminar I attended to start:

• I dislike getting up early
• I like being downtown
• I don't miss the morning commute
• I don't want to see any Portland Police cars
• When a chonga bagel with cream cheese lands face down on the passenger side floor of the car because you had to slam on the breaks - it is okay to eat it
• I really wish I was still in bed
• I should have brought a book
• Sitting in a hotel conference room from 8-8:30 with nothing to do but make lists is really boring
• I hope I don't fall asleep
• I wonder if the Fuego burrito carts are still around
• I really want a burrito for lunch
• If I eat lunch in the car I wonder if I can get a brow wax at Brow Betty before going back to work
• Only 3 minutes have passed since I last looked at the time
• Would it look bad if I put my head down on the table?
• Why does no one ever sit in the front row?
• It has only been 1 minute since I last looked at the time
• My latte is cold
• I think I need toothpicks for my eyeballs
• I am going to text Amanda
• Damn! Someone sat down next to me and he is chatty
• The presenter guy is snapping pictures of the "audience"
• It is 8:30 - let's get the show on the road

At the 1st break:

• Whoosh, made it to the first break and this is very interesting and I don't feel lost
• I think one of my former Shindaiwa coworkers in here
• I need more sugar in my coffee
• Starting to think about that burrito

royal pain

Justin loves this hat.

He picked it out.

He wears it nearly everyday.

But want to know what the real "royal pain" is? It is not having enough money to pay the bills. It is about having more on the to-do list than time to do it. I am feeling very overwhelmed with everything right now. I cannot get ahead or even catch up, for that matter. This is nothing new. It is a constant. I am feeling motivated to "do" and and get things done, but I just can't find the time. The cute boy Justin is always wanting me to roll out his playdoh or help him build choo-choo tracks. It isn't that I don't like to play with him, but the chores don't do thelmselves. How the heck do I balance it all? {insert stressed out face here}

I think it looks worse than it really is, but I would love to have a free day to clean, organize, and make room for the car.

celebrate happiness

Inside the waist band of my new jeans it says "celebrate happiness" I like it! But... I will really celebrate when these jeans aren't so tight. Someone needs to loose a few pounds {me} - I need to work towards a better diet and get some exercise in... then one day maybe I will be able to "celebrate thinner-ness".

Justin likes to snack on shredded {and it has to be shredded} cheddar cheese dipped in ranch. Kind of a weird snack if you asked me, I did not invent this combination, he did. He also likes bread smeared in Jack Daniel's Honey Mustard.

...my legs feel like jello because I did a bun and thigh workout. I need to get in a habit of exercising more often
...Justin is watching SpogeBob on the computer while I type and is eating toasted bread that he is dipping in ranch dressing - on Friday night he ate cheese sticks dipped in ranch {his choice 100%} Weirdness
...my house is a mess and needs to be spruced
...I have to move some lundry into the dryer
...I have more pictures on my computer than time to deal with them {makes me sad}
...I need to go to the grocery store
...I have a lot to look forward too - {Amanda will be here in 2 weeks and 2 days}
...I need to get baby kitty {Harlow} into the vet - my itty bitty kitty needs to get "fixed"
And.... something that is just plain wrong:

I had already posted my picture for today. The sun was shining, the sky was blue - Justin and I headed off to the store and while we were inside it decided to get ugly outside. On this day were we "spring forward" - it is slushy, snowy and yucky! It is simply wrong I tell ya, all wrong.

dinner tonight

I had to work today at the attorney "retreat" and Justin had to go to "school" - which meant we had to actually set the alarm clock and get up early {6:30AM} - ack! Justin did not want to get up. He kept saying "lights off" "go nite-nite" "blankie on" - it was cute and pathetic. I hated having to get him up a good 3 hours earlier than normal, but it had to be done.

I didn't sleep well that night. knowing I had to get up and moving early, so i was tired! Dinner was simple and fairly healthy {which I am trying to do more often}.

I'm asking for trouble!

I took the plunge to be a Scentsy consultant and my starter kit arrived today. As the picture shows, it is going to be quite a challenge to keep Justin out of my stuff. And more of a challenge to find the time to actually get my "business" going - {where will I find the time?} - but I think this will be a fun and easy way to make a few more $ each month.

...with checking my facebookI have been put back in touch with old school friends, coworkers, and more. It is just one of the reasons I love the internet.

Run Justin! Run!

Today was a stay home day because Auntie Ann {the daycare provider} was not feeling well. Justin and I, mostly I, started organizing the mess that has taken over the garage. mid-way thru the organization Justin insisted that he go for a run in his "running shoes" - which are actually for this fall and 2 sizes too big. But he clomped, clomped, clomped down the sidewalk several times. I also decided to take full advantage of a day at home and packed a few boxes up. Stuff like board games and winter clothes and boots. We had two house showings yesterday and one person was actually interested but isn't sure if she can write an offer yet. Our fingers are crossed that the stars will finally align and we will get an offer this month. I don't want to leave this house and neighborhood - but I have a feeling things are starting to happen.

Boy am I gonna be bummed when this house finally sells and I am going to have to leave behind all the plants I planted.

Cookies

Baked some chocolate chip cookies today! Yum! Love Justin's smile here - he is posing next to the delish cookies! The pictutre, like most of my pictures is blurry, the isn't a lot of natural light in the house and today was rainy and dreary, so the light coming in didn't do my any favors. Regardless - love this smile!
