wishing for a loose tooth
Justin asks nearly everyday {with a wide toothed grin} "do I still have my teeth?" Today he tried to wiggle one. A few friends at school have started loosing their teeth and he is wondering when it will be his turn. So far all his teeth are firmly in place, but I am glad to be talking with him about it - and I hope the excitement stays and that he doesn't actually freak out when the time comes.

what I am reading now:
I have a bad habit of starting a book, then getting distracted by a new book. I have every intention of finishing each book, and I will, but I can't seem to stay focused on finished one before starting another.
Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper
Two Kisses for Maddy by Matthew Logelin
A memior of loss and love
I haven't started this book yet, but can't wait to dive in. I read Matt's blog and have followed his story for awhile now.
The Nasty Bits by Anthony Bourdain
I haven't started this book either, but I will, and soon.
Stiff by Mary Roach
The curious lives of human cadavars
This book is fascinating. I head about it on the afternoon radio show and knew I had to read it.
You Know Your Way Home by Suzanne Jauchis
Let Me Eat Cake by Leslie Miller
Black Heels to Tractor Wheels by Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman
I actually read this story already when it was posted chapter by chapter on PW's blog. But I am really enjoying going back and rereading it now in printed form.
The thing about what I like to read is that it almost always is never fiction. I like real life stories. Life is better than fiction.

$64.21
Nothing like getting totally raped at the gas pump! It is costing over 60 bucks to fill my tank and it is just depressing. I typically don't ever look at gas prices or shop around for the cheapest price - I need gas, I am loyal to Chevron, I buy gas, I don't look at my receipt. But now that it is costing a pretty penny to fill up I am taking notice, and I hear it isn't going to get any better anytime soon.

old fish
This poor beta fish just looks old and grumpy! We have had him/her for well over a year and I am surprised each day when that this fish is still alive. He used to be very active, especially when it came time to gulp down those little food pellets. But now most of the pellets don't get touched. It's almost this guys is just dying a slow death.

need to catch up
I love me some magazines, but I need to find sometime to catch up on the pile. I usually tear through the People magazine right away, the others take me more time.

Easter decor
I like to do a little bit of seasonal decorating. Easter isn't a holiday I go nuts over, but I thought these speckled eggs would look cute in my long tray.

cash
Our new renter moved in last night.
Justin is holding the wad of rent money.
Last weekend Justin was begging for a new lego train that cost $119 and in an effort to teach him about money we brought the change jar out and counted coins. He helped me count out the cash tonight and was really hoping a expensive lego train would be in his future, but I told him not to get his hope up.

Sunday fun
Today after grocery shopping I asked Justin if he wanted to go down to the park and feed the ducks. He did, so we went. He was also very excited about swinging at the park {they only have swings at this park}. He was swinging and telling me that he loved to swing and wanted to swing all day long. He was so happy to be feeding the ducks and geese and the one million seagulls that were there too.
Later that evening after dinner we went to Barnes and Noble to look at books. We found the section that had science books and Justin was totally sucked in. Here is exploring a book on volcanos.

baby steps to spring
The sounds of spring are starting to filer into the neighborhood - lawn mowers, pressure washers are being fired up. But it is still kind of cold and crappy out and I haven't felt real motivated to get out and join my neighbors yet. I did spruce up two of the pots on the front porch today though. I also bought some caulking so that I can fix up the pillar out front, but that will have to wait for a warmer day.

April Fools
{pic sent via text from Jason - Justin wanted to picnic today}
When Justin got in my car today after pick up from his dad he immediately started to "fool" me with April's Fools jokes. It was really very cute and I glad he remembered this day, no foolin'.
