LEGOS

Justin and I have a love/hate relationship with legos right now. Justin thinks they are great and they have been the toy of choice around here lately. He loves to play with them, but then they fall apart and he can't always get them back together again.

stinky boots

Justin loves his boots and they are his footwear of choice right now. Problem is they make his feet stink.  I am trying to get him to switch back to flip flops or crocs for spring and summer, but he doesn't want to.

chasing rainbows

On the way home from daycare this evening there was an amazing rainbow in the sky, Justin informed me that he had never seen one before - and he was really impressed and asked a million questions I couldn't answer.  I had hoped we would be able to see the rainbow from home so that I could snap a picture, but we had nothing but blue sky and fluffy clouds above our neighborhood and no rainbows.

not ready for the weekend to be over just yet

We had a busy day today. We had to have Auntie Amanda at the train station by 2:30 so we decided to hangout downtown for a few hours today to kill the time.  We unexpectantly found ourselves at Saturday Market and it was a great day for it - the weather was quite nice.

After dropping Amanda off, Justin and I hit up the movie theater to catch "How to Train Your Dragon" - which was so great.  I don't venture into the movie theater with Justin too oftem because he is still too light to hold down the chair himself and it always folds up on him.  But I am so glad we went, he enjoyed the movie and so did I.

On the way home we stopped at the Bomber for more plants, I actually think that was the highlight of Justin's day.  He runs in, grabs a box {he tells me to get my own} and starts to pick out plants he loves.

IN-N-OUT

Before heading to the airport we stopped to get lunch.  Since we don't have In-N-Out Burger joints in Portland, and since you always hear about them, I wanted to give it a try.  The burger was really good, the frys kinda sucked.

I have been a pitiful photog on this trip.  I take my camera with me everywhere, but we haven't really gone much of anywhere.  We were working until 2:00ish, then we had a late lunch.  After that we did go downtown and hit up some shops and we went back to Pacific Beach for a bit.  It took us nearly an hour to get there and we only stayed for about 10 minutes because we had to get back for a BBQ.  There just aren't enough hours in the day to do it all - and when you factor working into the day - we haven't been left with much.
I turned my camera on Milo, Joey and Ali's new pup, for a bit.  I am starting to count down the hours until I get to see my Justin again.  I miss him.

34

Justin had these flowers delivered to me today - which was a nice surprise, my little boy sure has good taste. Roses and star-gazer lilies are one of my favorite combos!
Rachel came over this evening with a tuxedo cake.

Justin played photographer and we had a really hard time convincing him to come sit with me for a pictue.  In this shot that lily looks bigger than my head!  Amazing!

Make a wish!!!!

more flowers and plants

Sometimes the weekends mean dragging Justin out of the house.  He often doesn't want to go out and about right away and it content to stay home and watch movies, play games, sword fight, etc.  But I like to get out, even just for a little bit.  We hit up the hardware store to get some spray paint and then Freddies to get a few plants.  Justin's love of plants is dangerous for me, cause I love plants too!  We filled our cart with flowers and headed home.
Rachel was over this afternoon to do some crafting, but she picked up the camera for me and snapped a shot of us planting.
I actually had other things planned for this tub, but Justin insisted.  And I think the end result when it fills in will be just fine.  This backyard needs A LOT of TLC, but I hope Justin's new found love of gardening will aid the cause.  Big thanks to my wonderful neighbors for mowing my backyard today - the grass (I mean weeds) was nearly waist high.
Later he set out to do a little documenting on his own.  He had orginally told me he wanted to take a picture of the moon (which makes sense, cause the only time I bust out the tri-pod is to ATTEMPT to shoot the moon) - but he moved his set-up down to the grass to snap a shot of our work.

a very un-Saturday

I had to work today, but I got home around 5:00 and Justin and I made the most of our Saturday evening.

We played a very loose game of Monopoly.
Had a sword fight.
And later went out to Pizza and then to Freddies to pick up a copy of "Alice in Wonderland" and box of Red Vines.

what I am watching now

I have to work tomorrow at the attorney retreat and Justin is with Jason tonight, so I kicked back and watched last weeks episode of Celebrity Apprentice.  This is a great season with chef and hottie Curtis Stone and rocker Brett Michaels.

Justin today

Band-aid mustache.
Justin came home today with some water color paints, a book of flower pictures and a tulip "tattoo" on his arm. He asked if I wanted a "tattoo" too. Sure. He asked me to pick a flower design out of the book and then he got right to work.

my knight in shining armor

I love the imagination and creativity involved here. All week, prior to getting his suit of armor, Justin was having me strap throw pillows to his legs and was using another as a shield - although it never really worked well. So when I spotted this suit at Target for 12 bucks I knew he had to have it. When we got home last night he could not wait to put it on. He made me use a broom and a pillow still to fight him, but at least he was looking the part. He also spent some time in front of the mirror checking himself out! Then today, he took me outside and we turned and faced the house and he said, "this is my castle" then he asked me to follow him inside and that I needed to knock on the door. He said "welcome to my castle" - while down on bended knee - where he comes up this, I haven't a clue.

Happy Easter!

Justin was a little disappointed that the Easter Bunny didn't fill all of the eggs with candy.  He asked me where the jelly beans were... oops!  About half of the eggs had M-n-M's and mini Reese's peanut butter cups, and I didn't think all the eggs needed candy inside.  Each time Justin found an egg he would shake it, and if it had no candy he was all "hmfph, no candy!"
The bunny brought Justin a chocolate rabbit, Spongebob stickers, a fish game and a new watch.  What Justin really wanted was one of those big and crappy baskets you see at the store, they have had them all over Fred Meyer for weeks now.  They are tall and cellophane wrapped and filled with junk.  I thought the basket I put together wasn't too shabby, but later in the day when we were shopping Justin spotted one of the store baskets out on a clearance table and asked why he didn't get a basket like that.
Justin has had this map book for awhile and he just loves it. He likes to show me where Oregon is and just this week he decided that we were going to move to Maine as soon as possible. Here he is showing me where he thinks the Easter Bunny lives.
