We spent New Year's Eve at Cheyenne's

She made awesome pulled pork sandwiches

and I made some rockin' brownies.

After dinner we played a few rounds of

Apples to Apples

(my new favorite game)

This game requires reading ability

but Justin was able to play

and even won a round.

You would never know he couldn't read

by the cards he was playing.

We were home before mid-night and tucked in to bed

as neighborhood fireworks 

alerted me to the arrival of 2012.

Hard to believe that Cheyenne and I still aren't 

NKOTB obsessed teens.

So I snagged this puzzle at Hobby Lobby...

I love doing puzzles when it's cold outside

I grabbed a rustic car puzzle thinking

that my dad might be interested in helping put it together

and he was very interested.

Christmas Eve day

We met up with Auntie Amanda for some coffee

Then hit up a few stores for some shopping.

It started to snow this morning 

and by the end of the evening we 

had a good bit of snow to play in.

Last night I loaded up the car

Justin met me after work

I got off at noon

we hit the road.

Just fell asleep for awhile

I wanted to nap too

I was so tired from my week at work

and all the Christmas prep

but it was nice to be on the road.

I don't know exactly why,

but when Justin spotted this pretzel maker at Freddies 

he had to have it.

I don't like having extra appliances 

and this is not exactly a toy.

I told him to ask Santa...

Well... I was doing some stocking stuffer shopping tonight

and there was one pretzel maker left

I grabbed it

Justin is always thrilled when he gets the last one of something

so this was  meant to be.

I kind of accidently made cookies

that look like

boobs

I grabbed the bell shaped Hershey kisses

because I was going to make

peanut butter blossoms

yum

and the actual kiss shaped kisses were not

in the holiday isle that I was in

at the store

so I grabbed bells

As soon as I pushed the bell into the cookie

I saw boobs.

Amanda and Alex arrived late this afternoon.

The nerf shooters quickly came out.

Alex had the brilliant idea to set up targets to shoot at.

I don't think of things like that - 

seems like an obvious thing to do

but my girl brain doesn't go there.

After hitting the target a few times

Justin and I headed off to the airport

traffic was horrible

Amanda and Alex picked up pizza

Let Thanksgiving weekend begin!

 The beauty of having a birthday on the weekend is that you can open presents all day long

We spread out the joy and playing.

The Enormous Watermelon

Justin's kindy class put on a performance today called 

"The Enormous Watermelon"

Justin was in the group that recited "Jack and Jill"

he did great!

After the show we had a little reception is his classroom

he suggested the arcade

so we went

and it was fun.

which came out in theaters today

so we went out to dinner

(Mickey Dee's had Puss in Boots themed Happy Meals)

and then to the movies.

It was fun!
