Love coming into work on rose day!

An attorney at work has an annual tradition of giving each women in the office 12 roses from the rotary club annual sale.  It is so nice to walk around the office and see a vase of pretty roses on each ladies desk!  

I think everyday should start with roses!

mister snakie goes to work

Justin planned on taking Mister Snakie to school on Wednesday for sharing, so I told him I would bring Mister Snakie to work with me today.  I took this picture and showed Justin when I picked him up from school.  Justin laughed.  I told him Mister Snakie was on the phone all day.  Justin asked why - I said he was calling around trying to find mice to buy and eat.  Justin said that "cracks me up!"

Justin asked if we could go out to eat for dinner and I asked him where he wanted to go.  He said Subway.  I said okay.  We had a nice dinner and then we played with the lego min-fig app on my phone.  Even Mister Snakie played, sliding his tongue on the phone during his turn.  For a kid that doesn't like stuffed animals that fact that this little snake is so loved is simply amazing.

Justin, who is not a fan of stuffed animals in any way, fell in love with this little snake we found at IKEA on Saturday. 

zombie attack

Justin's creativity with his legos far surpasses mine.  Today he staged a zombie attack in lego city that was pretty funny.  Last night we made new buildings/businesses for the city.  Justin assigned me Starbucks and he made the McDonalds.  His McDonalds was so great and even included the "golden arches".  My Starbucks was lame by comparison.

Sometimes Justin lives out life like it is a video game. 

We play sword fighting and it goes a little something like this:

Justin: "well, well, well"

Me: "well, well, well"

Justin: "we meet again"

Me: "yes, we meet again"

Then we battle it out. But we always have 11 hearts, which means 11 lives. 

The whole thing plays out in a video game like style that I don't fully understand.

Paxil in the sun

Paxil's shelter name was "Sad Eyes" - which I never got.  A few people have randomly commented in the past that he looks sad.  I still don't see it.

secret guys - vol. 4

Lego has sucked me in deeper with their mini-fig collections. They just released collection 4 and in two days Justin and I managed to get all 16.

It is spring break week for Justin and he has been spending the bulk of his week with his dad. Earlier today I got the following picture via text message:

 Justin was playing Wii and made his imaginary friend Towel.  It is nice to know what Towel look like.

It was actually nice enough today to spend some time outside playing.  Justin rode his bike for a bit and played with some of the neighbor boys for awhile.  He has a cold with a cough and the fresh air helps a lot.  The sun doesn't hurt either.  I was even able to open some of the windows in the house to let some fresh air come in which was lovely!

It was POURING on my way home tonight. Rain and hail mixed.  Buckets and buckets of rain!

This makes me happy. I think. Usually by now I am more than ready to begin planting flowers, and watering flowers, and watering flowers, and pulling weeds, and watering... I am not ready to get my hose out yet. Luckily with all the rain we are getting the ground is very soggy at the moment but I think the moment we get a good bit of sunshine the plants will just burst!

I love all the artwork that Justin brings home from school.  Can you see the little guy at the bottom of the volcano getting covered in lava and ash?  Justin asks a lot of questions about volcanoes and I only have a few of the answers - he is mainly concerned about having active volcanoes in Oregon and if the lava would ever get him. 

Lego look-alikes

I was on the phone, Justin was playing with his legos.  He asked me to put arms on guys, he can take them off, but they are trickier to put back on.  Then he showed me that he had made himself out of legos - he was shirtless this afternoon because he was sword fighting and you do that without a shirt, apparently.  Then he made me working on a laptop and it took me some time to notice, but my lego character was dressed as I was today, in a green shirt and gray pants.

Today we met up with Rachel for pedicures.  Hot pink for me, bright blue for Justin.

We were in Toys 'R Us tonight and Justin pointed these out to me!  Little did he know that I was a BIG Smurf fan when I was his age.  I had a few of these little characters and I just loved them.  I wish I still had them as I imagine they might be worth a little bit.

Brandi ordered up a chocolate peanut butter makewhateveryouwant for Chuck's birthday.  Underneath the peanut  butter cups, ganache and peanut  butter frosting is a triple layer chocolate cake.  The frosting is amazing and a slice of this will certainly send you into a sugar coma I am sure.

appreciate the mini

I am typically not a fan of the mini-cupcake, but in the case of having to bring 60ish cupcakes to work the mini felt appropriate.  These are for a Brandi's last day at JSR.

mmmmmm... 68 mini chocolate cupcakes dipped in Chambord ganache and topped with fresh raspberry buttercream.  So so good!

As per tradition we went to Gustav's for fondue and fun before Scott, Jamie and Jimmy move out of town.  Again.  This time it is to Seattle, and we didn't place bets on how long it will be until they move back to P-town, but I am going to give it 15 months.

Things at work are changing.  Brandi is leaving {her last day will be Tuesday}.  I will so miss working with her and things are going to be crazy for awhile but I am working on embracing change and oddly enough this one doesn't have me frazzled at all.  Bring it!

what a difference a week makes

Our toaster died on Sunday which prompted a trip to Target for a new one.  The toasters were right next to the waffle makers and since I have been promising Justin waffles for a few weeks now he easily talked me into getting this Belgium waffle maker.
