I pulled into the garage at the end of the day and turn the car off, but stay in the car listening to something on the radio.  Paxil jumps up on the hood of the car and starts screaming at me in meows.  I imagine he was saying "get out of the car and get me my evening treat now!"

We went to the pet store today, just because, and I spotted this little lizard hanging from the mesh above his cage.  I thought it was so cool.  I put my iPhone right up to the glass and snapped away.

Mother's Day Tea

Today the preschool had a Mother's Day Tea. When I arrived Justin greeted me at the door with a hat he had made for me {yellow paper, flowers, duct tape} and then he showed me to a seat and left. Once all the moms were there the kiddos came out for a performance. They sang "if you are happy and you know it".

Next up was snacks that we ate on the floor.  It was super sweet and way cute.  Justin was a little emotional about the whole thing.  He was on the verge of tears.  He would not look at me during the performance at all.  I remember those grade school performances well and I wasn't a fan either.  But he did really good.

This is Jack, Justin's best buddy at school.

Justin asks nearly everyday {with a wide toothed grin} "do I still have my teeth?" Today he tried to wiggle one.  A few friends at school have started loosing their teeth and he is wondering when it will be his turn.  So far all his teeth are firmly in place, but I am glad to be talking with him about it - and I hope the excitement stays and that he doesn't actually freak out when the time comes.

I actually read this story already when it was posted chapter by chapter on PW's blog.  But I am really enjoying going back and rereading it now in printed form.

The thing about what I like to read is that it almost always is never fiction.  I like real life stories.  Life is better than fiction.

Nothing like getting totally raped at the gas pump!  It is costing over 60 bucks to fill my tank and it is just depressing.  I typically don't ever look at gas prices or shop around for the cheapest price - I need gas, I am loyal to Chevron, I buy gas, I don't look at my receipt.  But now that it is costing a pretty penny to fill up I am taking notice, and I hear it isn't going to get any better anytime soon.

This poor beta fish just looks old and grumpy!  We have had him/her for well over a year and I am surprised each day when that this fish is still alive.  He used to be very active, especially when it came time to gulp down those little food pellets.  But now most of the pellets don't get touched.  It's almost this guys is just dying a slow death.

Easter decor

I like to do a little bit of seasonal decorating.  Easter isn't a holiday I go nuts over, but I thought these speckled eggs would look cute in my long tray.

Our new renter moved in last night.

Last weekend Justin was begging for a new lego train that cost $119 and in an effort to teach him about money we brought the change jar out and counted coins.  He helped me count out the cash tonight and was really hoping a expensive lego train would be in his future, but I told him not to get his hope up.
